Helping a Soldier into Home Ownership Against All Odds

John got in touch a few months back and felt disillusioned from the advice he had already been given by other banks and advisers. He knew he could afford the mortgage he was proposing, but couldn’t get the amount he required. Nadine gave him some suggestions to improve his affordability and talked him through the different schemes available that might help him achieve the dream of home ownership.

A wedding and honeymoon and an operational tour

John took this information on board and went in search of a property that met both his and the lenders criteria. This was actually the easy part as the next hurdles were distance, a wedding and honeymoon abroad, swiftly followed by an operational tour!

Taking the pressure off

Nadine worked alongside John remotely using any online platform available to him at the given time of location to get all of the information required over to the lender and liaising with the housing officer (new build scheme), lender and solicitor to move things along and ease the lines of communication in the process. It was important to her that she took the pressure of him during the build up to the wedding and whilst he was on tour as she understands how stressful both of these things can be, let along putting buying a house into the mix!

There was also quite a bit of coaching involved in the Forces Help to Buy process to aid the other third parties understanding of the scheme as well!

Back from tour and over the threshold

John got back safely from tour, just in time to complete on the purchase and carry his new wife over the threshold of their first home. We are sure this must be a great Christmas present for them and are over the moon that we were able to help them.
