Remembrance Sunday is always an important date on any Forces Family calendar and by now most of us are already wearing our poppy’s with pride.
In our view, it is also an ideal time to support other fantastic military charities and to educate the next generation about why this day exists. We like to do this via story telling and purchasing fundraising items from various forces based charities.
Here are some of our favourites for this year.
A great conversation starter for all ages from SSAFA. An exclusive and official D-Day publication marking the 75th Anniversary of the Normandy Landings. Filled with informative stories of great bravery, courage and sacrifice.
A beautiful way to remember those past and present from the Soldiers’ Charity. Inspired by all our brave heroes in the Armed Forces, this Set was created by Haig Housing, and manufactured by leading brand Heyland and Whittle.
A unique idea – each item carefully spells out the word ‘Remember’ in Morse code, this is a really unique way to help support The royal British Legion and to Remember.
4. Perspex WW1 Tommy with engraving voucher
A very personal and touching way of commemorating someone that has been making a huge impact all over the UK.
5. Where The Poppies Now Grow
Not sold by a charity, but a softer way of discussing the subject of war with young children.
